I have already planned this out with my husband; that we are going to have a list of tasks every week or so.
It will contain a big or major task among other small tasks that will come along.
Some other small tasks that I can think of for my new house should be re-arranging things for the kitchen and also putting all the furnitures to where they should be i.e. console table at the entryway or the L-shape sofa in front of the TV.
All furnitures I have now are from my parents'. They move out from our IPBA house in KL, and I moved up North. So to save their cost of bringing those furnitures back to Sarawak, I inherit those and will save a lot from my furnishing list.
The bigger tasks that I can think we can make it in two days (OMG I am being very positive and I think it will be easy and quick!) during this weekend are :
1 - Revive Mother In Law (MIL)'s metal bed (old and rusty) by removing all the rust (I am googling it now on how-to) and re-paint it black and the details in gold;
2 - Paint the fridge (may be the upper door only) in chalkboard paint; to hide the dirty look and also to add a purpose (I can write menu on it!);
3 - Paint the smaller fridge (to be located in our master bedroom) flat black and the details in gold;
4 - Build the countertop Mr Husband has been putting it off these few weeks.
There you go. Four major tasks, in a weekend (freaking two days, optimistic I must say!). Two people who know nothing about DIY, and are firstimers. Wish us luck! :)
Not that I am too optimistic and I am eager to know my level of doing DIYs, but I am grouping all the major tasks in a weekend due to it will be the fasting month of Ramadhan for Muslims, and for us too; starting next week.
If we do major tasks like this; on a fasting day, I bet it will stuck half way through the first half an hour into the task; and will only be picked up weeks/months later! I don't want that to happen, hence the plan.
Let see if we can achieve the list by this weekend.... Till then!
